You do not need a skincare routine that requires a spreadsheet.
You need a few products that make sense, work together, and do not leave you standing in front of the mirror wondering which tiny bottle goes first.
The Bare routine is four steps.
That is it.
Not four steps plus an optional serum, a backup serum, a toner, an essence, and a product you only use during a full moon.
Four.
One: Undone
Undone is where the day comes off.
Makeup. Sunscreen. The general feeling of having had your face on in public all day.
Warm a small amount between your fingers and massage it over dry skin. Wipe away the day with a soft cloth or cotton pad. If a little balm remains, you can massage it in and let it stay.
No water. No tight, squeaky finish. No cleanser that makes the next three products necessary just to apologize for the first one.
Undone gets things back to bare.
Two: Revive
Revive is the daily face step.
Use a small amount, warm it between your fingers, and press it into your skin. Give it a minute to settle while you brush your teeth, find your keys, or remember what you opened your phone to do.
That is the whole move.
Revive is not trying to be a ten-part facial in one jar. It is there to give your skin everyday moisture in a way that feels simple enough to keep doing.
Three: Renew
Renew is for the rest of you.
After a shower is a great time, especially while skin is still a little damp. It is also great for arms, legs, hands, elbows, knees, and all the parts of your body that somehow get ignored until they are begging for attention.
Use what you need. There is no perfect amount and no prize for using the tiniest possible scoop.
Renew is the body step that makes you feel like you have your life together, even if the laundry situation suggests otherwise.
Four: Lip Butter
Lip Butter is the smallest step and possibly the easiest one to become weirdly attached to.
Keep it in your bag. On your nightstand. In your car. In the pocket of the jacket you will not wear again until November and then be thrilled to find.
Use it whenever you want.
That is the entire Bare routine.
Undone to take the day off.
Revive for your face.
Renew for your body.
Lip Butter for the little finishing touch that somehow makes a difference.
Four products. A few minutes. No complicated order to memorize.
Skincare should fit into your life, not become another thing you have to manage.
